What:
An annual community service project where students provide and serve a meal at ECHO.

*This is required for all CCA Hybrid students or student receives an absence. 

When:
Thursday, November 17, 2016 

Time:
11:15 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  BE PROMPT!                              

Who:
Hybrid & Connections students – All ages; siblings welcome

We’ll meet up with our homeschool friends for this event.

PARKING:
CCA Families should park in the staff parking lot. <Look for signs!> It is the first left after turning onto Durrance Rd. Please go straight back to the grassy area. 

PARENTS:
Please bring sunblock, lawn chair and water for everyone. You should bring a snack. If there is any food leftover, we will eat. However, we can’t guarantee it, so please consider bringing lunch.

About the Event

ECHO exists to provide sustainable solutions to fight world hunger.

ECHO needs our help to provide and serve lunch at its 21st Annual Missionary Conference. They’re hosting 150-200 delegates from around the globe to share ideas and network regarding the issues involving producing food and feeding the worlds’ poorest people. CCA and our friends in the homeschool community have once again been invited to provide and serve lunch for this conference.  

The work we do blesses the delegates while they’re visiting our city. They’ll take what they learn and make an impact where they’re serving. Through our donations of food and love, we are helping to touch the world. The delegates have commented that this is their favorite meal of the conference!

Attendance & Community Service

CCA Students should help buy and/or prepare the dish. In addition, the students should be prepared to help serve. Students who prepare a dish and serve can count three(3) hours toward their Community Service Requirement. 

*If Hybrid students do not attend, you will be marked absent. 

  

Schedule: 

11:15 – Arrive promptly
11:15 – 12:00 – Food will be set up on table in preparation to be served.
12:00 – 12:00 – Group Photo and Pray over meal
12:00 – 1:00 – Students will greet and serve lunch, then attend to the delegates at their tables.
1:00 – 1:30 – Clean-up following lunch.

 

What To Bring: 

  • A dish to pass. (You sign up for a category/dish when you register to attend. We need more main courses than anything else. )
  • Water for your family. This enables ECHO to focus their resources on the delegates’ refreshments. 
  • Snacks for your family. The number of delegates attending has continued to grow. If there is enough food, our group may be able to eat as well. This will depend on the amount of food and what is left. 
  • Sunscreen
  • Lawn chairs for parents/siblings
